i find that really hard to believe that adding a turbo i'd only be running in the 15's

thats an extra 75-100hp, i could run at least low 14's
Ok, so you think that you are going to shave more then 2 seconds off your car with JUST a turbo? You need to seriously do your homework. Your car runs roughly a 16.5-16.8 stock....adding just a turbo will most likely put you mid-15's. The stock SRT-4 Neon only does 13.9-14.1. That motor is BUILT. Your Neon is stock and an automatic...you wont be seeing that kind of power increase without doing more to the motor.

Flat out, you wont realize any faster times then low to mid 15's with what you want to do. You are better served doing an SRT-4 motor/tranny swap, then you are trying to build the motor with a turbo.

If you dont believe me, simply ask the same question in the SRT-4 section.
this is true, no way ur going into 13's or 14's with an automatic turbo neon

To each is every own . My 1st gen hahn does in the 11s almost 10s so its what you do to your turbo and depends on the driver also. I have a 96 turboed neon .

Werent you the same guy who said he had a SRT-4 too? It's easy to say you have something....until you prove it....please....just keep that kind of stuff out of here.

Yes, exactly that. Better aftermarket parts, new headers, new cam, high flow cat, etc etc etc...that will make turbo'in your car all the more worthwhile.

To be honest, for the money, you are better off doing an SRT-4 motor swap with the turbo already on the motor. You should be able to hit mid 14's easily and you'd spend about the same amount of money. Not to mention you could sell the old motor. The only downside is, you'd have to go to a manual trans.

I think just building up the motor I have right now is my best option, I'm only 17 and it's still my parents car technically...lol

Ok, help me list the things I should get...I already have a homemade cold air intake with a K&N air filter and I have a fart can (yeah...got that right when i got the car, wish i woulda jus got a cat-back instead)

Header
High Flow Catylic Converter
Underdrive Pulley
Cam gears? sprockets? not sure what exactly they're called, i can get em on ebay for about 150.

What else?

Hehe, when you look at AirWolf's gallery, you can see his SRT and the older neon too in the background. So maybe he does own them both... be the time still leaves many questions....

1st of all I hate trouble makers like both of you . I never posted pics of my white acr only had it for a month sold it for personal reasons . Second of all I only have my sxt on here and very old pics shes changed alot. Will never post my 96 cause of flamers likeyou both. My next ride is going to be a sti. Love neons but want to get into the import world nicer group of forums also and more of them. Id say to how about 17inch tires and rims and lowering springs and a cf hood all good for racing and shows. you can build up your engine just as nice then going turbo.

Listen to DevilsRejects, he seems to be the only person who knows what they are talking about on this thread. An SRT-4 motor would be a better option for you. Can you drive a stick?

From my own experience (I have a turbo kit) with upgraded internals and I am only running in the low 15's on street tires. I should have bit the bullet and saved up another 1,500.00 and got the SRT-4 motor. If you are going to ask for advice you need to listen. If it is your parents car you might want to get them to sign it over into your name before you spend a dime.

Hey AirWolf, do you have any pics of this 11 second car??? No because it never existed.

For starters, I am not making trouble. I simply asked you to back it up. I will be the first in line to issue an apology if you can back it up. Until then, simply dont make comments you cant prove or back up. This is not the first time you have done the exact same thing.

And I am no flamer or trouble maker, but it seems like all you can do is talk....it shouldnt be that hard to get slips for a car you already claim is a 10-11 second car and post pictures of you in it....otherwise its just.....[sm=bs.gif]

As for the import world, there are ton of more sites for it...but there's also alot more CHILDREN on those boards too. People who think its cool to slap neons and a fart can on the car and call it a 13 second car.... I know there are legit people out there too, as I know a few myself. Just dont compare this site to those sites, as the fan base here is much larger and much harder to pin point then say a Honda site or a Subaru site....as they have 1-3 cars to worry about....and this site has something like 50...
