Aftermarket gauge faces -- problem
hey. anyone who knows the answer please post back ASAP, or any ideas too. I ordered aftermarket gaugefaces for my 1995 dodge neon 5-speed, with tach. when i got the gauges, it came with the faces, a wire came off of that, into a black box, then came out with a wire that had 3 different ends, one halfway, was a small plug , and halfway further, was another just like it, then the wire ran into the switch to change the color of the lights. I am trying to figure out what the two plugs go into? my car is at y friends house right now, and we're trying to find out what the plugs go to, or if we need them at all. thanks
EDIT: Could these plugs possibly be to plug into the lighting system? for when you turn on the lights, they come on? just a guess.

alright, we just didn't plug in these wires and everything works fine, except for the speedometer. When we installed the new faces, we couldn't take off the old faces, because they hold the covers for the "BRAKE" light and "CHECK ENGINE" light and others. So ,we just put the new ones on top of the old ones. We are running into major problems with the speedometer though. When i am going about 25 orso mph (cant tell cuz it doesnt work) the gauges read 0 mph, when i bump it up to about 35-40 mph, it reads 10 mph on the gauges. we think that the needle is rubbing on the new faces, but i personally think that the needle just needs to be positioned a bit higher, but i'm not fully sure about this. If anyone has ANY ideas, whatsoever, please let me know, it is togh not being able to drive my car around.. hopefully ya understand that, =P Thanks!
Did you actually remove the gauge cluster or just apply them with it in place? The gauge should be working just fine. I'm more towards the needle being caught on it.
i had to remove the cluster to get to one of the torx screws, so yes i did. My friend who has a 98 R/T said that for his, he had to put some elmers lue between the stock faces and the new ones.
well for anyone who ever has problems, take off the needles, and put some elmer's glue between the new and old gauges, and hold it for 10 minutes, pushing down. then let it air dry for about 30 minutes, to be safe. Then put yer gauges back in and it should work. (it did for me atleast!)
I had the same problem. it is the needle sticking. however my needles don't come off any ideas please let me know
