nice thing about dynomat is that you dont have to prepare the surface at all....they say to use a hair dryer and a roller....heat up the mat, stick it on the trunk and roll it flat.....i just stuck mine on there and it would without any problems.....

i used some GREAT STUFF foam sealer on mine too....i filled up all the holes and cracks in the lid with it...then put duck tape over the holes so that the foam doesnt leak out...then when it dried i put the dynomat on everything....then sprayed the underside of the lid down with rubberized undercoating.....because i didnt want that aluminum foil look when you pop the trunk...plus i had 4-12's in the trunk in single boxes....so i needed sumthing a little extra

 

So you are saying just put it directly onto the latch? The latch is like not even 3 inches wide.

Spudsterier, wanna hook me up with a picture of your trunk so i can see what your talking about? im having a similer problem with the trunk of my neon rattling and i even moved down teh latch's 1/4 inch and still its harder to close but still rattles and i have 2 JL audio 12's in there.

 

With mine it rattles but it is most likely that little black plastic piece that is causing it.

 

You can also tighten the trunk so it is not as loose, I did this to mine and the dynomat. I have 2 15 Kickers.

 

wow i never noticed the post about wanting the pic of my trunk.....i dont have a pic of that though since i havent had a stereo in my neon for a long time
