Hi everyone,

The Oil Pan on my girlfriend's 1995 Neon needs replacing. I found a diagram on the internet that makes the job look not too difficult, so I thought I'd try it myself. Are there any tricks to getting this thing on an off? I know with some vehicles, major labour is required to remove this item...

yeah you may have to jack up the one side of the motor so the pan can clear the motor mount...goodluck!

 

just take off the front mount.....then you will have access to all the bolts and it can come out without any problems

 

Do what spud said and get a gasket scraper to get off all the old gasket material or you could spring another leak.

 

Just keep unbolting stuff and it comes out pretty easily no big deal at all. Clean up good ad reinstall new one with a fresh factory gasket and happy motoring.
