Default NEON TRUBLE HELP~!!!!

hi im new to the hole neon thing i just bought a 1996 cause the guy said it just stoped runing one day so i got it home it has no spark and there is no power going to the coil?.. i dont know what it could be any ideas? could it be the ecu? i was told i should bring it in and have them hook it up to diagnostics lol but that **** will cost 70bux and than they said they will order and install the parts i need but im like.. well i can do that my slef and say said "we dont recomend that sir" so w/e lol well has anyone else had this problem>? thank you alot nice site you have here. the car is a 1996 2.0 sohc auto 4dr

Yeah, a lot of shops around here now charge about a $60 diagnostic fee.... doesn't seem too unreasonable when I haul in a dead car and ask them to tell me what is wrong with it.

If you're not getting power to the coil pack, check the ASD relay as one possible cause. You could also run through the shop diagnostics. There's a '97 service manual available on line which is almost identical to the '96. The ignition section is at: http://www.neon-owners.org/neon/tech...997/EPL_8D.PDF

Try buying a service manual and ringing out the trouble codes yourself.

I take it that you have already checked all of the fuses? It could be the PCM itself. Did you or do you know how to run the PCM through it's self check, it has built in diagnostics so you don't have to take it in and pay them to plug in a box to tell you whats wrong.
