Or for the money he would invest in the supercharger for the ls1 he could buy a turbo kit for a neon and run in the 13's once he learned how to drive it. Then turn around and still get 30 mpg on a daily basis (if he can keep his foot out of it
) Not to mention the insurance is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper on the neon.

Whats the deal with SRT's? Anyone have some stats (hp, TQ, 60 ft, 1/4 mile) and what does one cost?
ok but back to about the neon....if i got a neon i want it to get an exhaust, cams, spark plug wires and plugs, an intake, short throw shifter and some other stuff.....i would want a body kit and everything because they look so much better with them.....but i mean i want a car that with a couple of mods....not to expensive seeing as how i only have a part time job....well a couple of mods that would make it so i win a race with my friends or when some stupid *** in a honda pulls up next to me i can kick his *** and let him know it

Yeah, but an LS1 Camaro will run low 13's without the supercharger (naturally aspirated). [sm=smiley17.gif] The gas milage isnt too bad if he can stay off the hammer like you said. It just wont be 30 mpg. Probably 18 to 20. Spending thousands on a motor and running 13's just doesnt make sense to me. The LS1 is twice the motor and has traction problems off the assembly line. I can barely get my neon to spin the tires in the rain.

I have personally watched '03 SRT-4's running 13.7-13.9 sec. in the 1/4 mile and they lack the limited slip differential and the 15 horsepower more that the '04's have. At the same events I watched '03 SRT-4's that only had the Stage 1 upgrade (new PCM and fuel injectors) on them running 13.0-13.2 in the 1/4 mile.[sm=smiley2.gif]
Is i blown? 250 hp just doesnt do it for me. Granted those cars are light so the power to weight ratio is good.
The gain from a Vortec SC for the LS1 is 50% depending on the amount of boost. So, 400hp x .50 is 200hp. 400 + 200 = 600hp. Sounds a little better to me.
