Oh, an no, my seat back is not bolted down with the Torx T-55 bolts. I don't know what to tell you guys to prove it to you short of flying you clowns out to my place so I can physically show you.
Crazy Squee, Don't think anyone is doubting you can do this on your car.... we need to fly you to us to show how it's done on ours [sm=smiley8.gif].

The only reason why you should have to take the bolts out is to actually physically remove the rear seatback from the car.
My last post pretty much agreed with what you just described. If a person finds they can pull the upper hooks loose on their car without undoing the bolts, it's a nice shortcut. Otherwise, they can still follow the steps from the Dodge service manual:
[ol](1) Remove rear seat cushion.
(2) Remove bolts holding rear seat back and seat belts to floor.
(3) Push rear seat back upward to disengage hooks at top of seat back (Fig. 3).
(4) Separate rear seat from vehicle. [/ol]

Still uncertain whether the seat-back hooks were modified at or beyond '98.

I know. And it says the same thing in the 1999 Service Manual about the bolts havig to be removed which I find peculiar because I've never had to unbolt them. And I bought the car in April of 99 brand new, I'm the first owner of the car and probably the last.

FINALY!!! freaking got the seat out witt a crowbar [8D]
i bought some infinitys 6x9's (i plan my whole system to be infinity) and i wired them up and they sound so freaking sweet...

tommarow i am going to cut holes in the rear deck and put my 6x9's in with the covers.. should look nice, i am also thinking about put some vinyl on the rear deck of a different color to make it look even better.

I also got a sub box in today and it almost fits my trunk perfectly, i have my subs(infinity 1230w's) pointed towards the front of my car with the rear seat down now all i have to do is hook them up [:-]
which brings me too a new question...
Where do you guys go through the firewall at? i have 4 gauge wire...

What are you running through the firewall?

And subs are supposed to be omni direction, meaning you aren't supposed to know where the bass is coming from. It's better to turn the subs around and point them to the rear of the car and leave the rear split seat up.

POWER WIRE, what else?

i used to be worried about which way my subs were pointed b/c the guy that made my last box had them pointing up and he said that it wouldnt make much of a difference.. maybe a little more rattle in the trunk. and this way looks better.

It does'nt matter which way you point them, if you rear face them you may get a little more rattle if you haven't dynamated the car.

Oh, so you have an amp. Ok now it makes sense. There should be a group of wires just above the brake pedal that you can run it through.

Maybe this whole seat issue is dependent on where the car was built. It makes a difference on some of the other parts so maybe thats the cause of the seat issue.

I know what you mean I have 5 1/4 infinitys installed in the doors of my altima and it was a night and day differenc compared to the pioneer speakers (that I thought sounded pretty good) that were in there. Now I just got to come up with the money for some infinity 6x9s for the rear
