Default Neon

Hey please answer!! I have not had too much luck with my questions on here before, but here it goes. Like I said in my previous posts I have narrowed my problem down to the wiring harness. My question is will a engine harness from a 01 neon work in a 97? If there are only a couple of minor changes I can deal with that but the scrap yard I have my credit at only has one of an 01. THANKS!!

I don't think so because the body styles are completely differentand I think the 01 engine is bigger because if I remeber right the 98 is a 1.6 while the 01 is a 2.0.

All neon engines are 2.0L, with the exception of the SRT-4.

No, the wiring harness will not just plug in. The PCM is different.

I thought the older ones were a 1.6. Shows you how much I admire the old ones... no offense

Nope, they're all 2.0L's. The only big differences are that there are SOHC versions and DOHC version and the newer SOHC's had versions withmore power than the previous ones.

True to a point. The regular SOHC's are still rated at 132HP, but the Magnum SOHC is rated at 150HP.

Yup, that's why I said,"the newer SOHC's had versions with more power than the previous ones."
