Default suspension upgrade

Looking to throw some different suspension at my '98 Neon. Who/What should I be looking at? If I lower it will it take away an option to add a Wings West body kit later?

It won't take that option away, it will however make it so yiou have to drive really careful.

I have heard that the best lowering kit is the eibach sportline.

Yeah, I was looking at the Eibach Pro-Kit (1.3" drop) & the Eibach Sportline kit (1.6" drop). How much can I safely lower this thing without having to constantly worry about bottoming out?

That isn't true. It'll ride rough because you don't have the squishyness of the stock struts anylonger but it'll handle 100x better.

thats what i meant, b/c if youre smart you lower your car for the better handling. I hate kids that lower thier cars just so they can be "slammed"[:@]

well in michigan there is alot i mean alot of pot holes, so lowering your car can be a nightmare.[:'(]

I anticipated a stiffer ride with new springs. My question is whether I will gain any noticable handling from an addtional 0.3" drop (1.6" drop as opposed to a 1.3" drop), or if the only noticable difference will be bottoming out more often. Keep in mind that I already steer clear of road hazards due to the 17" wheels that I have crammed into my wheel wells.

Personally I wouldn't go farther then 1.3 unless your are going with a full coilover setup (not the add on kind). You will lose to much suspension travel which will hurt handleing if you drive your car hard.

The more of a drop you go the quicker you'll destroy your struts too. I would imagine the sportline would be a bit stiffer ride than the pro kit. I doubt you'll ever bottom out with either one. I've only scraped a splash shield a few times pulling into parking lots.
