Injection Pump

Injection Pump
I have a 2001 cummins auto with a hypertech programmer. I was thinking about putting the hot rod vp44 injection pump and the carter lift pump in it. I heard the combination would add 100hp. I want to get some input from some other people first thatare familiar with this set up.

Thanx for the input guys. I talked to my buddy who is working on my truck and he said that we should run dual lift pumps cause it's gonna be about $150 less than one carter and about $600 less than the fass system. I think I am going to try out an edge comp chip stacked with my hypertech programmer I already have, I am also gonna try out the diablo power puck and see which one I like better. I can get the edge comp for $400 and the power puck for $275. If you have any input on this let me know.

get a FASS 120gph pump
get a FASS 120gph pump
Now that I've installed my pans, now that it's getting warmer ( not really [:@]) my next mod is the FASS. I'm really back and forth about which one to get. I could care less about how much noise it makes. I was going to go with I think it's their 95 model or something. Any suggestions?

RE: Injection Pump
the 120gph fass will feed that HRVP44 much better than the 95. the HRVP44 on it's own will boost power 70-100hp. then you would have larger sticks, downlaoder or a box, turbo, and what ever else, your stock truck doesnt need the flow to power all that where as someone who is planning on running the HRVP44 will need it.
part of the diesel that goes into the inlet of the VP44 is used to cool the pump, then returns to the tank, under certian conditions such as low flow or high demand, all the fuel is diverted to the pump to power the engine leaving the gears and assemblies that need the fuel to lubricate and cool them without the needed flow.
this is why I say the 95gph is good for you under mostly stock conditions, where as what brett is wanting to do he will need all the fuel flow he can get.

Gotcha !!
I figured that, but I was just making sure. I'll probably be ordering the FASS from that Ken's shop that you turned me onto a little while ago. I'm just waiting for my Pop to square up with me on his pans ( he ordered a trans and rear diff as well ). Once we square up, I'll have the cash-o-la to order the FASS.
You still like that Ken's place right?
