We've been getting a lot of school buses in our shop lately. Everytime I fix them, I take the bus out on a 20 mile road test to make sure everything is good. Each time during the road test I've been cut off at least twice, and have had cars whip out around me countless times. Its a friggin school bus. It could be caring a load of kids. What the hell is the problem with people, I can't believe some of the morons out there. Anyways, just venting.[8D]

When they come cruising around you just stick the STOP sign out. That should stop them.

 

Nope, they go flying right around that stop sign! It's a good thing I'm not a cop, cause I would not stop beating an idiot like that until they shot me dead.

On the other hand, if the bus drivers out there are anything like my kids bus driver, I know why you've been fixin a bunch of them. This woman only knows two throttle positions ON and OFF. She "rolls coal" every time she takes off. But it's ok buy me, cause she treats my kids like the were here own grandkids. Nothin like a good old red neck lady to watch over your kids. I pitty the fool that ever messes with them while she is around.

 

We've been having a TON of problems with school buses over here lately. Apparently they're not fixed often enough or at all. A little girl just got killed by a runaway bus, and another girl just lost her leg for the same reason. Two different incedences.

 

all the buses are in good shape, their machanics keep them up pretty good, its just the engine stuff they can't handle. I love when aidcars come in. Talk about a lightshowdon't nhonk the horn inside though, makes your ears ring forever.

 

Hey Mayfair if you think that is bad let me tell you a little story/incedent that I was witness too.
Our local fire department was being dispatched to a motor vehicle accident onroute to the scene with our siren and lights going some jerk actaully passed us. Once at the scene this idiot was there as well as the police, after a short discussion with the officer, the officer proceeded to write a ticket to this idiot. I still cant believe that this guy actually passed us with lights and siren going. Of course our captain would not let us go and talk to him because he knows that we would have dragged this guy into the bush and throttled him.

 

Its the old addage that "Im more important and in a bigger hurry than you are and I dont like to be slowed down."
IV seen it here with someone cutting off a big rig just cause he was going a bit slower.

 

I did nine years on a yellow dog. Yes, you would think people would notice a giant yellow bus with flashing red strobes on top and a big red stop sign poking out of the side. Most folks do but a lot of them wouldn't see it if it was on fire. I had them go by from the front, from behind, even had one loose control and go broadside through the ditch between my bus and the parent who was waiting for their child. Defensive driving plus a lot more.
As mentioned before it's another symptom of our increasingly egocentric society.

don't most buses have cb radios. need to let em get the cops channel so they can report license plates instantly or a channel that the dispatcher listens to along with the copper channel
