The centane boost is of course as everyone knows simply increases the BTU or the "kick" in the fuel. Anti-stactic is as it states, it reduces the static in the fuel caused by running fluids through a steal pipeline.

If I can make my truck (pre-ULSD) run better/longer with aftermarket additives then I will continue use them.
I hear ya, and I understand what you are trying to say ( kinda ), but did you read the article in TDR? It says somthing about how if you add too much, you might actually do more harm than good. It also states ( if I read it correctly ) that the ULSD has just as much if not more lubricity that the LSD. Again, I may or may not have read it right, but that's the impression that I walked away with.

Drew, I agree that my engine is definately running quieter than before, but is it at a cost? Am I haveing some sort of "build-up" as a result?

I'm really lost with the whole thing and the last thing I want this discussion to turn into is a pissing match ( I'M right ... no I'M right !! ). All I'm trying to do is what's best for my truck.

if your asking buildup, is that cabon buildup on the injectors???

just to let you know, every diesel that is run similar to what we run our trucks will have carbon buildup. . .the only way to realy get rid of it is to run the snot out the engine pulling a load to get the drive pressures and temps up, or pull the injectors and clean it off by hand.

Mayfair, I read the article and just started adding 16 OZ of Wally World 2 cycle oil to a 20 Gallon fillup on the main tank and 1 Qt for a 40 Gallon fillup on my AX tank. I am still running 16 OZ of PS Grey per 20 Gal. fillup.

Let me know what you think after reading it again Drew. I'm really curious !!

I just added fuel again last night, only this time I didn't add any Brew. I felt like I was cheating on my ladyfriend.

Anyway ... if I get anything more than 14mpg the Brew is most likely history. Hopefully they didn't switch over to the summer blend yet. That would screw EVERYTHING up.

Does anyone know when they switch from winter mix to summer?

Here in north Iowa winter blend stoped on March 30th so any fuel delivered after that date should be 100% #2 diesel fuel.

Is that what I should be looking for ... #2 blend? Is that how you tell the difference between winter and summer blend?

I only work for a Shell refinery in Bakersfield.
Vinny,
Do you see any problem with using 16 oz. of 2 cycle oil per 20 Gal.? I had been using the "Brew", 16 OZ PS Grey bottle and 8 OZ MMO, but changed on my last fillup to 1/2 QT 2 cycle oil from Wally World per 20 gallons, while keeping the 16 OZ of PS Grey.

I am also in Bakersfield, work on the other end of the fuel business, I help get the "Problem" oil out of the ground with EOR processes. How do you like the new 6.7?

Ralph
