It's been a long hard debate with myself about doing it. My truck isn't a daily driver but, it is a family ride for trips and things so doing stacks was a big decision.

After a few conversations with Josh@ Grand Rock I went for it. One of the deciding factors was.... no one makes 6" x 30" stacks which will bring them right to the top of the cab. I don't like them way up in the air like most are. Josh informed me that during a production they had some that were cast the wrong size which happen to be 30". One dealer purchased them all and is the only one with any.

So, I jumped on a set which should be here the end of this week. I know many may disagree with installing them but.... I think it's gonna look pretty cool !! Plus, I've spoken with several guys here locally and they've all agreed that they really aren't much louder than a pipe out the back.

now lets see if you can crank up the fueling to get it to smoke like that at idle[8D]

Have a mega myself with kinda the same setup, I am thinking heavily about stacks so post lots of photo's..

 

I have to say that looks bad *** and sry to say I'm not fan of stacks I want a single pipe out the passenger with a curved tip pointing down and of course straight piped. Loud and Proud

Will you be able to run the crossover under the bed, or do you have to run it in the bed? That's the only thing about stacks that I don't like .... when you hafta run the crossover IN the bed.

 

I thought about doing it under the truck but.... it's gonna be hard enough on my nerves cutting one hole in bed much less two !

I'll also be installing this so, that will clean it up a little. I plan the Line-X it too. so it blends in with the bed......

Drew.... I don't have tons of smoke just sitting at idle but, watch out if I ask Smarty for it :-) My wish is it's command and the smoke just a bellows. EGT's don't like it though [:@]

 

It's a shame to hafta build a box just to hide a pipe. What else can you incorporate in the box?

Flip up TV?
Stereo?
Keg?

SOMETHING ....

 

hum. . .usualy when I start belching smoke my EGT's dont get much past 1200.

smarty might be advancing the timing more then the TST.
