Hi All

Has anyone used an Aero 4040xl and another muffler like a magnaflow or something back to back. I had the Aero 4040xl installed today and it might be a little loud for my taste. (but i'm older) Also if anyone has done this, did you get some of your low end back, and did it quite it down?

Final question.... does an exhaust tip change the sound?

Drew, I hope for a ton of responses.

I did the Aero to help with performance, but I lost more than I gained I think. I ran 1/4 mile tests from the edge juice before the install and right after. I was at 98 MPH and 15.4sec before and 16.2 sec and 94 MPH after install. I ran multiple test before and after, same location and only an hour apart. Seems like I lost my off the line performance.

I know it seems like I am a Silverline salesman, but I absoloutly LOVE my Silverline. It is not very loud at all. It sounds like stock at idle from the inside, and has a nice deep tone at 2k rpm and up. I haven't been to the track recently to see if I have lost or gained power, but I would think I have gained a little.

Where did yo mount the Aero? Is it back at the stock muffler location, or did you eliminate the cat and mount it there?

I went from a 4" tip to a 5" and it sound soo much better, gives it a little deeper tone. I also prefer a turndown, makes the ground rumble

hmmmm ... and you STILL think it's loud?

Did you eliminate the cat?
Is it mounted correctly? ( don't laugh ..there IS a right way and a wrong way )

I'll bet it's probably your "bat ears" are just tuned into it too much right now because it's new and your listening for something to be wrong. Give it a couple of weeks and you won't even notice it anymore.
