Be careful about the Prodigy, version 3 is out and some of the "wholesale" places are selling older versions now. FYI....

Anyone have pics or opinionson where they mounted their brake controller's in their Ram for best location? I am looking for the best place to mount for view/accessability, but not in the way of drving.. i.e. right leg, etc...

Although I haven't ever had to use it this way... the trailer brake controller has a manual **** for activating only the trailer brakes.

I suppose in a panic situation where your trailer might be trying to pass you in the adjacent lane, or fish tail or jack knife you might have a need to hit the trailer brakes only.

Maybe keep that in mind when finding a location, so that it can be in easy reach and in easy view if it has any indicators on it.

please stay away from the old fashioned hydrolic trailer brake controlls. Mine had it when I bought the truck. screwed the brake system up royaly. once removed, it was happy again!

a buddy of mine has a prodigy.. it works fantastic.. you can easily set the delay and intensity on the fly.. i have an old mechanical type and i had to make a bracket for it so it would be level enough and still beout of the way of my feet.. it's mounted under the dash right in front of the gas pedal.. mountedback farenough so it doesnt get in the way of my foot..it's a bit of a reach if i needed to opperate it manually

I already bought the Prodigy brake controller along with the $15 Plug and Play wiring harness for Dodge trucks.

Ford spoiled me with their built-in controller which was located in an easy to see and reach location. The dash onthe '07 Ram is somewhat limiting. So far it looks like the best place is in line with the gas pedal, I just don't want my shin hitting the controller as I am driving. I also have to keep the controller angled between 0-70 degrees.
