Default spindles and rotors, hubs?

I have a 2001 2500 2WD and I am gonna get some 3 inch spindles for the front(they are like 300) and a set or slotted and drilled rotors and brake pads for the front off ebay for like 200. I dont really understand what the hub is exactly. Doesn't the front end just constist of spindles and rotors.

Check out this link:

Demon is on the market for some hubs as well and he's looking at these. The rotors press onto the hubs which really suck if you ever want to have the rotors turned. That's why I replace my front brakes every 10K needed or not. The only other thing that isn't on your list but I think shoud be are new front brake hoses. Even though they may appear fine they may not be. If you've never changed them, since you'll have it all apart anyway, now is a good time. They're worth every penny.

Good luck !!

I hope that's just a general pic, because if it's an actual pic it's missing about 3 lug nuts / studs

I'm just pry gonna go with the coil springs for the lift since I might replace most of the front end.

All you need is slotted rotors. Cross drilled are for that "pretty boy" brake look.

Trust me when I say this. NO ONE hammers on their truck as hard as I do. I have slotted rotors, and carbon metallic pads. Carbon/kevlar pads will wear down the rotors after about 5 or 6 sets. I hammer on my brakes. I ABUSE my brakes. A quality set of slotted, severe duty rotors will last a lifetime.

Rotors wear because high temp gases cannot escape when braking so the heat is convected directly to the rotor. Cross drilled rotors arew worthless in areas where snow and road salt are present during winter months.

Get slotted rotors, carbon/metallic or carbon kevlar pads, and watch how much better your braking is. The brake grab willincrease with heat. There will be no fade either.

Hope this helps.

Good luck with your ride.

My brakes work ok now and my rotors have a groover around the whole outside edge. I was just gonna wait till I did more work in the front end to get new rotors. My brakes just kinda gripe hard sometimes. I like your signuature, I wish I woulda done some more research before I got my truck.

You lost me a little here Demon. Carbon pads will wear out STOCK rotors, or the slotted ones?

Where do you get kevlar pads from?

Carbon/Kevlar pads will wear down any rotor, eventually. It just takes longer on a severe duty, slottedone. The pad is super, SUPER hard. It has amazing stopping power though. Even in extreme use situations. Never had a problem yet.

I bought mine from EGR Brakes.

Adios, muchachos.
