Thanks JakeBrake, I only knew before that they were prone to springing leaks, now I know why.I'm just glad I don't have to worry about them any more, cause I aint got one.

The problem with the 6.0 cooler is that it opposing flow. Coolant enters where the gasses exit (coolest) and exits where the gasses enter (hottest) This means that the coolant starts to boil when it gets to the hottest part of the egr cooler. If the coolant flowed with the exhaust, there wouldn't be any problems.
DAMN dude ..... Who are you ???

Is there ANYTHING about these engines that you don't know about ??

Why would you ever take that engive over a cummins? Here is a funny video, it's the overheating guy. http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...af013f4333.htm I think my favorite thing about the video is he keeps saying the duramax should be superior, but he can hardly keep up. You know the guy in the cummins has the AC on and isn't even pushing the truck.

I'm a mechanic at an international dealership, I see these things every day. I know all the problems in and out with our engines. I also know that ford messes with the engines and makes them worse. We don't have head gasket issues, or flame thrower issues[8D]. It's all ford's problems.

As a matter of fact, I got the heads off of one right now, but the block is pitted real bad right on the fire ring on 5 cylinders. Told the customer that we can try to jb weld it but doubt it will hold (for the labor involved, might as well try it) The price won't be much more than just swinging the engine right now. I got some jb weld curing right now, well see what happens tomarrow.
