Yes, you will. It won't be a big difference but you will hear it sing. If you put on a BHAF like Drew has (i think he has a pic of it) I believe you can actually scare people with the sound...
Even if you don't do any mods, the mileage will get better over time. I've gone from ~14 to about 17-18 and I'm at about 10k miles now.
As far as what mods will help more, I'll let all the experts answer that..The more I talk about them, the more I want them and the little voices have finally stopped...[]

for now.

with only 800 miles the engine is still being broken in. . .when I drove off the lot I was only doing 13.5mpg. . .I can hit 19 if I'm easy on it.

anyway, for he BHAF, the stock box has got to go, gut the stock intake tube, remove all baffeling, and a 1/2" drill bit to re-locate the AIT onto the rubber elbow and your done. . .

I have some vids of my truck on the dyno. . .my little stock turbo is just about all you hear

First of all, welcome to the club brotha !! You've just bought a truck that you'll grow to love "till death do you part".

As far as being new to trucks and asking questions, don't sweat it. NOBODY asks more questons than I do and these guy's hook me up every time. That's why we're all here. No biggie !!

As far as your mileage goes, don't go by what that computer thingy says, go with hand written actual mileage. Those computers tend to be off a bit. Your mileage will increase the more you drive it / break it in. You're gonna love it !!

It'll go up quite a bit. 12-14 sounds about where I was getting off the lot too. I'm running an 06 6-speed that is still (unfortunately!) completely stock and I just turned 50k and I average a touch over 20 right now. I can hit 21 if I drive it just right. Of course, I can also suck down to about 18-19 if I drive it for fun
