Default DEath Wobble in 2006 3/4 Ton 4X4

ok I know many of you have heard this.. it is happening to me and this is what I am hearing...

Kore perfomance and klfperformance have both stated that it is the tires and nothing other than the fact that they are not E Rated

I want to go ahead and go with the chase series suspension from Kore and the Toyo open country 35" tires.

I am running the BFG "D" Rated 315/70/17s and of course they are bouncing all of the place when I hit bumps at 70. please let me know if you have any other knowledge about the E verses D ratings

this deathwobble crap is crazy and it can be kindascary and for me that is hard to do

You know I had heard a little about the death wobble but only experienced a light wobble on washboard roads.

Then I went with a larger (33") and wider tire: http://www.offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT-Tires/TrXus_MT.htm.

Thats when it really became noticable. When it hit it was like Holy ****e! The whole truck shook violently (@65mph) and didnt stop till I got to about 30 - 35! Freakin crazy!

Happened a few more times and then I bought this: http://klmperformance.com/kore-suspe...tabilizers.htm

All is as it should be. A little pricey but solved the prob and couldnt be happier!

alot has been written about the DW... add caster to the alignment so it is more like a shopping cart setup (pivot point farther forward)and you'll be good to go

not enough caster IMO... I have 33's and have never had a problem with the DW on the '05. on my '00 I had it when I 1st got the truck but fixed it with the alignment adjustments...

Like Steve said......

Have you ever seen the front wheel on a shopping cart start shaking all over the place? It's the same thing that your truck is doing.

More caster AND check all the bushings in the steering linkage, the tie rod ends and the ball joints.

I have also heard a bad steering stabilizer and bent sway bar ends and the angle of the sway bar will cause it.

The only problem I have when folks mention the steering stabilizer is that it's just masking a bigger problem. With a steering system that is set up right, the only thing the stabilizer should be doing is keeping the wheel from getting jerked out of you hands from a large jolt.

I mean if you really think about it, hell you could mount a 20" travel Blackhawk by-pass race shock and it would certainly keep the steering shimy down. But is it correcting it or hiding a deeper issue?

I'm not trying to cut you, I just have issues wih the overuse of steering stabilizers to correct DW.

thaks for all this information I am going to try the casters as well as changing out the ball joints im at 50,000 miles so maybe it is time

i just put in a 51 gallon tank/tool combo from RDS and when it is full it seems to stop the problem as well.. weird.

no info on the D verses E rated tires though huh?

I am getting the Kore suspension (Chase) so my coffee wont spill when im ontexas dirt roads as well as the anti sway bar. dumping the bfg's and gettting the toyo open country.

im also now officially broke
