RE: The truth about tubo timers
I'd recommend one of these... pricey but you also get the front end lube going before you start it...

this is on my list of upgrades...

it is an exhaust diverter valve... basiclly you flip the switch and open the butterfly valve and it allows exhaust to flow thru it and thru whatever you have connected to it. imagine having your exhaust the way you want it for everyday driving vs having it setup for towing... two different setups, using this device you can have both installed under the truck... one being the everyday setup & the other a straight pipe setup, open it up when your towing & close it when your done. I plan on doing an install at some point in the future, along with a custom intake setup.

Oh, and instaling a gauge is probably out of the question.....he doesn't want anything but that Oh-**** handle on the A-piller. So are there any out there that don't require a EGT probe?

Are you sure?
That thing is called a "pre luber" or something. I saw you exhaust thing in another thread and THAT'S cool, but I have no idea what the heck this pre lube thing is.

Mayfair, if its like whats on the tug boats, the chief would pre lube the main engine before cranking it up. Basically its pushing lube oil thru the heads and cylinders to avoid a dry friction start on the engine. Pre lube it for 20 seconds or so, then crank her up.
