Default new air intake

ive searched a bit and have not found very clear answeres to my questions on an upgraded intake. im looking for somthing to give me better mileage, louder turbo sound, and better throttle responce without looseing any low end... is a new intake what im looking for. if so whats the diffrence between stage 1 & 2, just size right? what would be the pros of putting a stage 2 on a stock truck? also looking so spend anywhere from 2-300$ installing myself. any responce would be great!

I would chip it first that would give you more power and fuel mileage.

Stage 1 is usually a replacement filter and housing

Stage 2 kits usually add the intake tube to the turbo.

As far as mileage goes..............that's probaby not gonna happen with just an intake. That usually takes modifying the fuel delivery and timing.

More air = more boost = more fuel = well, you get the point.

agreed.. you might consider a edge ez or something like that, or another option is the rokktec crank sensor... said to give up to 1.5 mpg by itself.

hey steve, that edge you talk about.... now that u mentioned it thats all i can think about.... with all those settings being more power than factory, how easy is it to go to stock, and to use higher settings will i have to beef any other parts of my truck up to take the extra power?

If you went with the Edge with Attitude, you can go back to stock with the push of a button, and you wouldnt have to beef anything up right away...but then you will get the bug and then you will need to start beefing things up [8D]

yup, as sharky said, it's a push of a button... each setting has 5 sub-settings so you can tweek how each one performs. it's pretty slick
