Pillar Mount for Gauges on 2007
I had a post a few weeks ago about ideas for gauges, and you fellas were very helpful. That was before I took delivery of my new Ram, and I had decided to get a pillar mount for boost and pyro gauges.
Fast forward a few weeks. I have my new truck, and I see that the pillar has a huge handle molded into it. It's a nice handle, but I can't see how I couldadd one of those pillar gauge mounts to it. It looks like there may be room for one gauge below the handle.
Is this handle a new item for 2007? I wouldn't mind removing the handle, but it must be more than just a piece of vinyl trim since it's strong enough to handle a lot of weight.

The A-pillar for your gauges is a complete replacement of your existing pillar. The existing has two screws that support it so you can pull on it. The aftermarket gauge pillar has one screw just to hold the pillar on.
You can get a SRT pillar that keeps the handle but, only has one gauge mount.
A lot of people don't like not having the handle but.... the steering wheel does the same thing.
Just do a search on " dodge ram a-pillar " and you'll find what you need.

I put mine (EGT and Turbo press) above the rearview mirror, in front of the overhead console. I like the unobstructed view and it looks really COOL. I'll try to post pics sometime soon, perhaps in the diesel rollcall thread.
Well, I just got off the phone with Andy at Geno's. He was very helpful, and I decided to forget about a pillar mount and go with an Autometer overhead mount. Since I have an Edge Attitude on the way (thread), I decided I do not need to mount boost or EGT gauges. Andy said they had conflicting reports about the overhead mount fitting on the 2007 Ram. He said he would ship it to me for free if I agreed to let him know if it fits on my 2007, and if it doesn't they will refund my money. That was my first time dealing with Geno's, and I am now a believer!
Welcome to the Geno group. I wish I had gone through them to get my gauges.

There's a guy on DTR fabing up some dual gauge pillars that retain the factory grab handle. I'm waiting to get mine. Should be in some time next week. I'll post some pics when it gets here.
