All - considering ditching my F250 6L and going for the Dodge 2500 Mega Cab w/the 6.7L...
What kinda mileage are guys getting with this new 6 speed engine? I drove one today and it sure is quieter than my F250.
It also had a exhaust brake and clutchless manual option which I thought was great. The truck rode solide and I really like it.
OR should I find a 5.9L?

I have 600 miles on mine and I am getting about 17 with a K&N and the muffler removed and it should get a lot better but it is quiet like you would not believe.

 

Im getting 15.5 at 80mph on highway but the engine isn't broke in yet so it should get better. and at 900 mile on the truck Im gettin a message that the catalyst is full ans service is required but I will let you know what the deal is with that tomorrow after the trip to the stealership.

First tank - 12.2 MPG
2nd - 14.4
3rd - 14.7
It doesn't seem very good right now, but I hope it improves as the engine loosens up. I mostly drive to work and back, about 26 miles each way, approximately 1/2 highway miles.

 

seems thatthe 5.9Ls get better mileage?
but may be a little louder?

 

Using some MMO or 2stroke oil will quiet the 5.9's down

 

my associate who just picked up a brand spakin new 6.7 cummins a couple weeks ago started out at 11mpg, now he's hittin 15 or so. the more ya drive, the harder you push, the better the mpg!

 

Anyone have that new 6-speed auto. It's suppose to be about like the Alison in the Chevy's. I'm curious to see how they hold up.

 

if the 6.7's are anything like the 5.9's I started out at 13mpg off the lot, now I can squeeze over 19 if I keep my foot out of her. . .but wheres the fun in that

 

i have the six speed auto and love it so far so good but it only has 800 miles on it tonight loaded about 1000lb in the back and made 100 mile run and got the same milage as empty I know 1000lb is not much but I thought I would drop a little milage but just about 16.8 like normal empty also this is at 70+mph
