jimmydaleo - In Arizona and I can assume nationwide there is a big fine for that and stickers all over the pump
I live in an area very close to several ports and major highways - - the truckers use any pump they can fit into. Half the time I use one of two diesel stops where I am the only POV in the line and boy of boy do those truckers love it when little ol'me jumps out of the rig and grabs the pump.

Mayfair - Even in Jersey where they have to pump the gas for you
I thought Oregon was the only bass-ack-ward state that did that. Glad to see Jersey has just as many tards as Oregon.

Joedodge63 - but rather a royal pain when the pump shuts down when it reaches $64
Most out here cut at $75 (except one of the ones I go to that caters to truckers) Has a lot to do w/ people using stolen cards around here for fuel. Or people using a card w/ $20 on it and buying $100 worth of fuel. They put a 'amount' on to get full aproval instead of just a 'yeah they have some amount of money in there'. That way they don't get NSF back.

Heres my thoughts on the credit card cut off amount. Here in Washington it cuts me off at $75. I believe its federal law that the first $50 of a fraudulently used credit card or any electronic transaction the credit card holder is liable for $50 and the credit card issuer is liable for the rest of the transaction as long as you notify the issuer in a timely manner to the misuse of your credit card. I think thats why they cut off at a certain amount so the dumby that stole your card thinks "thats all folks." This way the issuer is only responsible for $25 in my state, and they cut there losses down on fraudulent activity at the pumps.

Mayfair, Must be an East coaster thing. Here in Nevada, I've only found 1 place I can't pay at the pump for Diesel (not including busted up card readers, etc.) Even Lost Wages has pay at the pump for diesel.
