Goood news everyone (professor farnsworth, Futurama)
Tranny is torn down and it looks like I dont need a drum... yeaaah the band was shot. I asked Mike if I can come down and take pictures and he said no problem. I also asked if he'll have the new clutch packs there when I come down and also said yes so I'll have pics of both to post here for anyone who is interested.
yes it does... we get to have it on for an hour before passing out for the night! of course we really only get to see the introductions lol, it sucks getting up @ 5~5:30 everyday... its hard to stay up past 10~10:30...
10:30 to 11:30 pm on the cartoon network (comcast cable) FG is on at 11:30...
well, just got back from the tranny shop and I am glad I went. The rebuilder Jeremy went thru everything he was doing to it in as much detail as I wanted. He mentioned that alot of the parts when compared to previous years have been beefed up significantly. 3 of the bearing assemblies previously had 4 bearings per assembly, now have 6 from the factory. My old clutch count for 3rd gear was 5, now will be 7. Kevlar band for 2nd, the drum was still good, it looked like the old band was barely hanging on. A portion of it was beginning to break apart, the material was next to nothing on the rest of it. He took a look at the valve body and commented that it looked like they did some pretty good mods to it, some that he hadnt seen before. I took a ton of pics which I can post later (have to process (shrink) & upload them so I can link them here).
After seeing 1st hand what was being done to the tranny I feel I definately made the right choice... pics coming later...

the very 1st pic is the culpret for my problem... if you look at the rivits & the material next to the rivit you can see there is not alot there. on one spot on the band there was hardly any material at all. imagine a clutch in a manual tranny that has no more material or brake pads that are shot, same thing. the rest of the shots were just comparing some of the new parts & showing the innards of the tranny.
