Default '98 Ram 2500

seriously taking a look at a 98 dodge ram laramie 5.9L cummins 6 cycl 12 vavle long box; has the quad cab with the hidden doors -- salesman tells me this is rare to find with the 12 vavle..216 kms on it (135 miles) ....automatic.

wondering what i should be looking out for here? ive taken it for two test drives; really like the truck ntohing seems out of order; although ive heard the older dodge automatics have had problems; is this true? what do you guys know? what should i be absoutley sure to check out?

ooh -- and the price -- 17800$ cdn which is think is pretty fair

If the rest of the truck is good, you can fix that trans for about 3000usd and have one heck of a tow monster

Wait, only 135 miles on a truck that's 9-10 years old? what's the story behind it?

Well, I guess as long as CarFax checks it out ok, there really isn't a story.... I'd say that's a pretty good find... ~$17,000...

Trade it in for that price. The first thing that popped out at me was the miles but if it all checked out on car fax then your good. Tranny's on them usually wont go until (in my experience) 80K. Good luck

yeah i thought about the trade but i get shafted on it...i can sell it and make 3-6 grand more selling it privatley at any rate; which is a huge difference
