truck going to Dodge for help....

RE: truck going to Dodge for help....
ok heres the scoop....
the new ULSD* pos diesel has progressively eaten the old type seals out of my injector pump. it is currently dripping slowly at the back end.
injector #2 is either faulty or the fi pump is f'd up even more.
have to have new fi pump installed.
labor $ 400
pump $ 1200+
got donation???
the mechanic loosened each fuel supply line to the injectors one by one. cyl #2 effected the idle less than the other 5, and #2 also had less pressure of spray comin from it.
i am gonna change injector #2 sunday. the engine has to be "over night" cold. ok, here in Phoenix, that is 95* at 5am!!! [sm=badbadbad.gif]
we will see if that helps to subside the hard idle. man it shakes like a dragster at the line......[:@]
comments, help, laughs, jokes, and general rudeness is appreciated!!!

RE: truck going to Dodge for help....
Sorry to here about the pump. My guess is that the new lsd is some of the cause. I had a 93 F-250 back when they first started taking the sulfer out. When ever I saw my father-in-law, I got a (saddle) tank full of off-road fuel from the oil rigs he was drilling on. Made the world of difference after just 1/2 tank! My other guess is that if you have one injector going bad, the others are soon to follow. That is the ONLY downfall to a diesel engine. When they break, it is sure $$$$$$$!
