welcome to DF... not having done it yet on mine, cant say much about it other than you should have a tenisoner with a bolt on it that will allow you to put a socket or wrench to use as leverage to get the belt off... my 2000 5.9 gasser had that setup so i'd assume the diesels should be the same.
If you have a HOT temper ,dont do it!!! Me and my boy changed mine the other day on my 04 CTD and I gottta tell you ,its a booger to do by yourself. After you get the old belt off, make sure someone is on the topside to help. I had to get mine threaded over the tentioner and then got my son to put over the alternator while I pulled slack on the tentioner. Its so dang tight in there its almost impossible to do the job by yourself. The job would be easier if we would have had a longer ratchet to hold the tentioner (More leverage)
