Default No Out-of-Park Alarm

No horn in reverse for the 6.7L w/6-speed auto!?!

I've tried severals times to get the horn to sound in reverse with the door open and seatbelt off, so I'm guessing the new 6-speed auto (68RFE) does not have the same issue as the 4-speed (48RFE) and does not require the out-of-park horn crap. Yeah!

[sm=noooo.gif] I most definitely do NOT want it to honk. [sm=badidea.gif]

I'm just posting my observation to verify with other 6.7L w/6-speed auto owners and alert 5.9L w/4-speed auto owners.

I know it gets annoying. I want to disable it if I knew how. especially when I add my air horns. will be great then.

You just need an normally closed relay that powers up with the back up lights and opens the connection to the horns, no voltage, no noise

you know I dont think I have tested that on my truck yet, but if it is there is there a way to get it turned off, other than the relay idea. I mean can the dealer turn it off.

The dealer can NOT turn it off. On 2005-2007 trucks you can get around it by buckling the seatbelt underneath your body.

This started as a safety recall in 2004 (link here). Presumably, some knucklehead(s) got out of the truck with it still in gear and sued Dodge. You should be able to bypass the horn by buckling your seatbelt underneath your body (disclaimer: always wear a seatbelt while the vehicle is in motion).
