Default Nerf Bars?

I am looking at getting some nerf bars for my CTD. Some of my shorter friends are complaining about the huge step up into the truck. I tell them to "grow up" or "it keeps the fat chicks out". But, I wouldn't mind the step either. I am looking at the Nasta Stainless nerf bars with all stainless steel mounting hardware, nuts, bolts, ect. I found them for $245. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with these. Good? Bad?

Mine came with westin chrome bars. I like them but my favories are the mopars (I think). They are oval shaped and look great. As far as mine they are very solid, I am happy.

I bought a set of the "Mopar" oval nerf bars and IMO they were JUNK! they sat maybe an inch off the lower edge of the cab so when you actually used them you were kicking the paint on the truck! Plus they were still quit a step up from the ground to get in, so what was the point to them, other than to look shiny?
So they lasted about 24 hours on the truck and I took them back to the dealer and got my 500 bucks back.
Bought a set of Amp Research Powersteps, now granted I have only had them for 4 weeks, but have only had the truck for6 weeks, installation was pretty straight forward, fit and function are awesome.
They actually lower down to about half the distance from the cab to the ground.
Downside is they are 1100 bucks and that is self installed price. I dunno about the ice being a problem, as I live here in the Republik of Kalifornia, I dont expect that to be an issue for me though.
