Tranny no worky!
I pick uu the truck tommorrow.
He changed the govenor sensor and the filter and fluid and adjusted the bands.
He said everything else was in good working order.
Total cost was 233.76.

I heard on another forum that adjusting the bands was baaaaaaaadddddddd..... i dont know what that mease but everyone on the forum reguareded the guy giving the advice as a transmition god or guru, anyway those
things are a mystery to me. does anyone know why it would be a bad idea to adjust them and what do they do anyway?

Adjusting tranny bands isn't a bad thing.
It's routine work.
If u don'tdo it, you'll ware out the bands.
You'll have sloppy shifts and eventually know shifts.
Tranny bands have material on them kinda like a clutch or break pad.

Well Steve I don't know.
I really didn'tlook at it.
But a tranny is a tranny and if I have a good repair manul
I can fix it.
The problem was the timing of the failure.
I work third shift and I don't have alot of time during the week.
So it was more convient to have the shop fix it.
