very nice frenchy. I do love the w7's. I'll show you pics of my 12w3 in my wrangler right now.
Eclipse CD3100 H/U paraequalizer three low level preouts
Polk MOMO MMC460's
Polk MOMO MMC650's
JL audio 12w3v2
JL Audio e1400D amp 500 watts at 2 ohms with 14.4 V goin to it.
Ported box tuned to 33 hz.
All Rockford Fosgate 4Ga wiring.

That's me setup to date. It gets nice and loud but i'm like you SQ is more of my thing. the w7 is an expensive sub but it's sq and SPL outputare great. other subs like the RF t2 get louder than the w7 butthey get raped by it's sq. not to mentionthe nice mounting system with the rollover cover thing that covers up ur screws. At first I was like wtf why is he running it at 1.5 Ohms. then I remembered JL usesdual 3 ohm coilsfor thte w7. They do that to encourage you to buy the 1000/1 because it puts out 1000 watts at any resistance between 1 and 4 ohms. which is nice but I just don't like that they did that instead of using a standard resistance like 2 or 4. I do agree at .75 ohms you may end up getting shut offs from time to time because of it being such a low resistance. It may work great and only protect once in awhileor it might do it so much it pisses you off. I do like the fiberglass I have yet to do that but sometime in the future I will. My box now is just MDF and carpet since it isn't anywhere you can clearly see it. by far JL is my favorite audio brand. have you seen there new Midwoofer. It's so nice. It's an 8 or a 6"woofer that ismeantfor the ultimate in producing midbass. That's be sweet to have. then you can run a massive 15" or 18" woofer and won't have to worry about the loss of midbass. I believe they said it's meant to operate in infinite space so basically no need for an enclosure just make some fiberglass door panels or something.

What are specs on the box sealed? ported? airspace? if ported whats the tuning? I like how it looks it'ssick man. If and when I get a CTD or just a ram 1500 it'll def have a nice system.

with that headunit isn't the 9885 a flip out with nav? or is it their flagship single-din.Those are great h/u. My buddy ahs an older alpineCDA7885 from like two years ago if you remember those. Still works great. Keep us posted either make a thread or pm me some pics when shes done cuz I most def wanna see this. and don't forget I want some excursionvids of that w7 moving at about 25 hz aight lol.

Hahahaha..... my h/u is a single DIN glide touch... I love it, haven't had ANY problems with it yet....

I've been too busy working lately to do ANYTHING in regards to this box... i'm slightly pissed at myself....

Oh well, I have tomorrow (today) off and then two days at work, then three days off... maybe, just maybe, I'll get to it then....
