Yea, the fact that the kid didn't even know me and had never ridden in or even seen my truck is what annoyed me, not to mention that he is probably still in high school.

Even if I thought that about someones truck. I don't think i'd say that to them. even if it was a ford 6.0no. Unless they started a whole bunch of ****. just tell that kid that if he wants a real truck with a real engine and no Inferior Front Suspension...IFS he can get a dodge.

I'm not to worried about it. I've only seen the kid that one time and he is just some dumb high school kid. Like I said he'll learn, especially if he buys a duramax. If he buys one of those he will either have to become a mechanic or get rich to pay all the repair bills.

If this was a few weeks ago i'd resent the "high school student" thing but now that i'm graduated and on to college I'll let that slide lol. even so I still think that's disrespectufl and for someone his age he should know better.

Ok, run down of my system...

Alpine CDA-9855 (I think.... can't remember)
Orion 1200D (pushing 900RMS at 1.5ohm... decided to take it easy... was thinking 1700RMS at .75ohm... but wasn't sure how stable it'd be)
Orion 4004 (pushing 125 x 2 RMS to my Clif's)
JL Audio 13w7
Clif Designs QX6500C

All KnuKonceptz.com wiring.... heeeeavy duty and amaazing wire.....

RaamMat sound deadener....

Uhmmmm.....

Thinkin about getting a batcap capacitor.... Eric Emery said they are one of THE best caps out there...

Audio is my thing... I love music... not that I listen to it loud, I just like, crisp and clear music... and my set up, provides JUST that...

:-)

Those w7's are badass subs, a bit pricey for me. I have a boston 10" g5...not in the truck but I have one. When I got my other ram I bought this sub because it was badass and I figured I need a badass 10 to make up for losing my mediocre 12" (punch HE2). Jimmy, I actually did exactly what frenchy was saying about the line output converter on a freinds 04 ram a couple years ago, very easy and would do mine the same way but I have a kenwood excelon that I cant bring myself to part with especially since it came out of an 06 ram and is going into an 06 ram it shouldnt take but a few minutes. I posted this in the a/v section here but will post here too. This is my first fiberglass project, came out ok. I had to build it because NO prefabbed box was deep enough for my G5.

Wow!!!!!

very nice for a first fiberglassing enclosure!!!

How mayn hours did you put into that?

My enclosure has about 75 - 80 hours into it so far, and is about 60% finished...

Let me add, these pics are before any fiberglass was layed on... so far I have about 6 layers of glass on it, and it's held me (225pounds) standing on it... and jumping on it... so I know it'll hold the power the w7 is gonna give it.... :-)

Well, I had some issues with the amp and the seat. I originally made an amp tray out of 3/4 mdf after I made the mold of the storage area and put that on the mold. The seat wouldnt fold down more than about half way because it hit so I pulled that and had to make it out of 1/4 luan and that just added more problems. All in all I suppose probably about 12 hours or so. Yours looks good, much bigger than whatI did. I would think 6 layers is plenty! I only did 3.

Ya, mine is 6 layers of double thickness fiberglass, when I went to Traverse City to have Eric help me design my box, he looked at my fiberglass and goes, "this **** thick enough??? I've never seen fiberglass this thick.."

hahaha....

So I guess I have about 12 layers of glass on the outside of the box....

and about 2 on the inside, just for safety. :-)
