New to board and new to diesels...already having problems
48re would be an aisin (sp) transmission You should be able to get at the soleniods by removing the pan. Not sure if you have to drop the valvebody on it or not. Only trans I've done that much work on is an allison
I dont know if you can get at them w/o dropping the VB... I know you dont have to yank the tranny though...
So Eric, now that your problem could be delt with... we need to see pics of your truck...

Thanks man,
The week after those pics were taken I got some 20X10 Bonspeed Sweeps. With those on and NO nitrous it went 12.01 @118 with a 2.0 60ft. I jsut got a set of Bogarts and slicks...hoping to break into the 10's with those and the spray. I'm suppose to be racing at Fun Ford Weekend in Bristol, Tn the beginning of August, but if I can't this issue with my rig worked out...I may be jsut showing instead of racing. The last thing I need to do is drive it up there and break it without a transport home.

Well, i drove the truck today for about 10 minutes and it almost didn't make it home. The tranny has officially taken a major dump. So I've been doing some looking and found a company called ATS and a company called Phoenix Performance Transmissions...Anyone heard of these companies and which should I go with?
Does it only do it between 1st and 2nd? Mine does and I took it in under warrenty and they said it is 2 silinoids that are fighting against each other. I am supposed to get it fixed when the job allows.
I had a local tranny shop do mine... I posted a thread a few weeks back with pics comparing stock vs the HD kit... I am pleased with the results.
