I think he probably just didn't have a clue what he was talking about. After we signed the papers he said, " thanks Mr. Hall, for your business, I will go pull her around for you"..... I really just didn't want him to drive it at all soI said, "no thanks we can just walk out to it." hahahaha, crap he was a loser, but he did give me a good deal so what can ya do

I really doubt I will ever walk into another dealership to make a deal. I searched online for 3 weeks for my truck, called, put a deposit, had papers faxed to me, drove 8 hours to get it, no BS, no hassles.

Nice!! that is the way to do it. I doubt I will ever talk to one again either. We went not to long ago to look at a few BMW 328i's and Infinity G35's for the wife, those guysare filled with 10 times more bs than any dodge dealer I have been too. It is like talking to 3 year old, makes me so angry Ijust wanna.....

Thats the problem with dealers, half of the salesmen are generally so stupid you dont know if they just have no clue.
True that. When I originally purchased my 2007 3/4 CTD several months back, I asked them what type of hitch the truck had. The salesman said a Class III. So a 2007 3/4 ton CTD truck comes with the same hitch as a mini-van? This didn't seem right and I ended up having to do some research (even posting on here) as to whether this was correct or not. Obviously, the salesman was incorrect, but I did have to jump through some hoops to find my answer.

They didn't exactly answer my question "did all G56's come with 3.73's" but oh well. Judging by the info supplied by drew, I would say they probably all had 3.73's, otherwise they would just top out at 65 or 70 mph.

Thanks for all your help guys, oh and if you read this Char_ls , sorry for any confusion I may have caused you inyour "PW look a like" posting.

just out of curiousity for anyone with the 4.10. what are you getting as far as mileage? i got the 4.10 gear and im getting around 13 mpgs in the city, and 14.5 on feeway around 75-80 unloaded w/out trailer... i got 18k miles on and i know its not broken in yet but im curious if that gear is what seperates my mpg from the rest of your higher numbers even without break in...

I think it may be your lead foot that seperates your mpg from everyone else's higher numbers , hahaha.[sm=gears.gif]

So how about adding larger tires, does this make a case for getting the 4.10s? My goal is probably a leveling kit with 33's to start, and ultimately a 6-inch lift with 37's. If I'm rolling on 37s with 4.10s, then would my mileage improve over 37s with 3.73s?

rum- I think there are just too many variables to consider when estimating your possible fuel mileage. The best way to get an answer to your question is too actuall y find out what mpg people are getting using the exact truck you are looking to buy with the exact tires you are wanting to use (I mean brand of tires and everything). All I can tell you for sure is, what mpg I get with my truck. I have (apparently) a G56 6spd with 3.73's (everything else about the truck you can see in my sig), and before I got tires the lie-o-meter in the headliner said 21.5 consistently, now after I got my tires (you can see what I'm rollin on in my sig as well) the lie-o-meter says 19.1 consistently. I know you shouldn't go by the mpg readout in the headliner but, I would imagine that If I figured it by hand I would have lost about the same as what itis tellin' me(about 2.5 mpg).

Assuming that all the variables stayed the same (same truck weight, same body style, same tranny, same engine, same exact tires and tire width, same road surface and driving route, wind speed, etc etc) it seems as if 37's with 4.10's would maybe make a better final drive than 37's and 3.73's IMO.

Oh yeah, also, these are big A$$ trucks with big burly engines, we aren't supposed to care what the mpg is.
