Diesel Demons stolen / borrowed mod ...
As most of you remember, I already copied ZDiesel Demon and re-routed my heater cord to the back bumper since I back into my driveway. This made it a helluva lot easier to plug in the truck from the rear instead of the front and then running the chance of forgetting that it was plugged in ( almost happened a couple of times )
Well, the other half of this mod was to add a battery charger to the mix. That way while heating the truck, you are also charging your batteries. I thought he was a genious when he told me about it so as soon as the weather got warmer, I got crackin.
Here is the finished product. All I hafta do is run some split loom over the wires.
With the battery out ...

Battery in ...

Crappy nightime pic showing the charger working and the plug lit up ...

THANKS DEMON !!!!
You da MAN !!!!

Why do you need to charge your batteries?
Why do you need to charge your batteries?
I wouldn't bother doing it seperately, but since I'm plugging my truck in anyway, I might as well kill 2 birds with one stone.
moconst - NO, unfortunately you can't see the glow with the hood closed. I was hopeing you could, but you can't.
when my truck is plugged in i get the bat tem code at start up. ill bet if you are charging the batteries at the same time your block is plugged in you wont get the bat tem code.
It's possible !!
The charger costs about 30 bucks. You hafta get kinda creative because the wires that come off of it are pretty short as you can see in the first pic.

do you leave that charger under the hood all the time or do you take it out before you pull out of the driveway?

The charger is permanently mounted. It's watertight, so it's cool.
I'm thinking about moving the charging wires over to the front of the battery since I have both post and terminal ports on my battery.

how did you make it water proof. and where did you mount it. did you hook the charge wires up to only one bat or both. and finaly why did the chicken cross the road?
The charger itself is already waterproof ... it came that way. It a special unit, so if your looking for one make sure you get the right one. It's designed for exactly what I've used it for.
I only hooked it up to one battery. Since the 2 batteries are hooked up to each other, the current will carry over to the other.
The chicken crossed the road because SHARX was after it !!
