My '01 has about 65K on it now. I am working on my 4th lift pump and my third injector pump. All of these were replaced under warranty. I have no doubt the injector pump will fail sooner or later. My question is this: is there an aftermarket replacement or anything for this? I see no future in spending good money on a pump that is just going to fail again. So why bother with a factory pump if there is something else available. Thanks.

RE: VP-44
nope. . .even a rebuilt VP44 will still have the same issue. the main problem is the electric lift pump. get something better than stock and your problems will go away.

RE: VP-44
A FASS lift pump should solve your problems. The VP44 will last a long time as long as you keep a good steady supply of diesel fuel running through it. I have 170k on my original VP44.

RE: VP-44
Changing the factory lift pump will help out a whole lot...they fail pretty easy...a FASS from Geno's runs about $430 or so
