Default Quick Drain Valve

Love my quick drain valve , I was supposed to be on the road today the 4th on the way to my family reunion, but work got me a little behind on my truck service and then I had to spend today replacing her garage door opener that crapped out on her yesterday and I didn't want to leave a customer hanging, it went from operner to why your here how about putting together the BBQ, so after 8 hours work I was home.

First I got my drain pan while the truck was still nice a hot and flipped the valve open, reached up and removed the filter bare handed and replaced it, got up and put a new air filter in and reached for the fuel filter, my first time, while the oil was draining, replacedit, shut off the oil valve filled it with oil, and cycled the fuel pump a few times fired it up and was done in45 minutes, is it wonderful what you can do under presure.

The valve makes the job a whole lot easier and cleaner.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July

Mayfair and I both have them, I don't know if he's done an oil change and missed his post, but's it is great just to slide the pan under there and unlock and open the valve it one quick motion, no worry about hot oil burning you or splashing all over you.

It was my first oil change since I got it installed, I could have done it anywhere and drained it right back into empty gallon bottles if I have wanted to, beats the hell out of the hot oil down the back of your hand

any risk of it accidently getting opened? (as in while off roading...) I think the bottom of the pan is pretty high up from the front diff which would make it protected I think...

It's not that low. I not saying you couldn't get it, but it would be hard.

Oh I found where Mayfair did a oil change and was drain into a gallon jug.

Yeah it's AWESOME !!

I have 3 old Rotella gallon jugs laying around all the time ( from the previous oil change ). I just open the valve, fill up a jug, close the valve, put a new jug under, you get the idea. No oil pan needed at all. ZERO MESS !! The ONLY way I could see a mess happening is if you weren't under the truck to change the jugs as they filled.

Steve, I honestly don't see any way for the valve to open itself up. You hafta push out on the valve while pushing up at the same time. Closing it is simpler since you just hafta pull down.

I absolutely love this mod. I honestly think I could now change my oil in a tuxedo and not even get it dirty, it's that simple.

Yeah that looks pretty hard to accidentilly open up. Another good reason to have one is if somehow you got water in the oil while out wheeling, you could always flush it right there... not that I would ever do any deep water crossings... mainly cause we dont have any lol...

I think with those they arn't like you just flip open the valve it's like you have to push in and then rotate or it's more than just flipping it so a rock or just anything hitting it won't pop it open the action of them are a bit more sophisticated that way the really only way a rock would open it is if it ripped off the valve which would probably rip off a regualr plug too.
