How bad is your fuel mileage while towing?
My 06 Megacab has only 5,000 miles on it, but I am only getting 7-10mpg pulling about 7,000lbs. Mostly around 8 mpg. The Excursion with a powerstroke always got 10-11 mpg. The p/s did have a 4" exhaust and bully dog intake. I will say that the suspension on the Megacab handled the trailer a lot better than the Ford. What are you guys getting for mileage and how much longer before I get up above 10?
get a few more miles on her. . .the mileage will come up.
generaly anything below 10K on these engines and you cannot get an accurate measure of fuel mileage.

I think you have a problem, not that I am an expert by any means, but with this combo and GCVW of 18500LBS I averaged 13.5 MPG at 62 - 65 MPH

I'm getting 12 towing a 5000 lb travel trailer. I'm usually running between 70 and 75.

pulling my 5'er which isaround 7500# LOADEDmy worst tank has been 11mpg and that was the pull up over Donner pass through Reno to Winnemucca NV on Tuesday. The truck only has 2300 miles on it now, and if it improves from there, I will be happy!!!
One question that needs to be asked is at what speeds are you driving? The Cummins engine gets its best mileage at lower speeds like between 55 and 65 MPH but once you go over 65 it will start to drop off. Also once you get more miles on your engine it will losen up and allow it to get better mpg. Also many of us have Amsoil synthetic oil in our engines, axels and gear boxes to help us get better mileage.
