I have a sunroof in teh truck, but in the heat I am in (Phoneix Az) the sunroof stays closed. The mini van does have remote start and a t.v. of course at the end of the night it is still a mini van. I should try and take that off roading so I can restrict myself from that and get my truck back. Hmmmmm sounds good to me.

 

oh man that sucks... did you air down the tires at all? what kind of tires do you have on there? also, did you get it fired back up w/o the sand in the airbox?

 

I remember putting my truck in some sand out behind the national guard post here,,, the front endof the truck hit the sand and sank to the sound of,, "ummmpphh". I quickly backed out since I still have stock tires on it. I actually get more race time in on the expressway here than I do off roadin.

 

This is one of those stories that you should have just not mentioned, lol. I have been stuck and mentioned them as well, lol. Well I am glad you got out without breaking anything or blowing anything up. You could have been pulled out by a honda ridgeline

 

Hello is this the Mr. obvious show,
I'm a long time listener and first time caller
Heavy truck plus sand never has a good ending does it?
Most guys I know that go up to the dunes in Michigan use buggies, yodas,and jeeps with wide tires .
I don't know much about driving on the sand
So other than tires and a locker what could you do Jimmy to move out there better?

I've been close to stuck once. That field was a little softer than I thought. Was able to work it out of the mud before it sank too far. Them stock tires kept it from digging. If you do air down tires, just becareful, that's a lot of weight up front and could easily pull the tire off the bead if you get traction.

I got stuck once when I was coming home from school in the winter.
I turned into our drive way and I stopped and waited for the garage door to come up.
My old 2 wheel Ford wouldn't move at all. I was just spinnin away on the ice.
It was embarassing , I actually had the speedo showing 40 mph and couldn't move.
I thought surely I 'd take bite and go . Nope just sat there, I had to pulled by my dad in his Bronco
I was the joke at christmas that year.

 

I got an 8 ton block and tackle and lots of chain when I go wheelin, never have been stuck. Only temperarily delayed

 

I got my old Z71 stuck. it took a chevy 1ton 4x4 a jeep 4x4 and a 10,000lb winch to pull me out.
