Wondering if anyone else is having same problem. Just bought a new 3500 Dodge. At 5000 miles sevice engine light came on. Dealership said I wasn't driving the truck agressively enough. Got the truck back and the service engine light came on again. Alarm has something to due with the turbo charger being clogged with carbon. Dealership has my truck and can't tell me how they are going to fix it or how long its going to take.

To address the recent problem with the 6.7L engine problem (DPF clogged), DC released a PCM Flash on 12 June. My truck had this done the day before I bought it off the lot (it was built in Feb 07). I have had ZERO issues with it.
The Technical Service Bulletin is 18-033-07 Rev A. After this service is performed the dealer is required by law to place a sticker on the front right of the engine compartment indicating the modifications performed. The TSB number and part number will be written on it. I also had a sticker on the PCM (firewall - passenger side). "Rev A" may or may not be written, but you can confirm the part number (below) which varies based on model (2500 vs 3500), transmission, and emissions certification (Fed vs. CA).
Quoted from Turbo Diesel Register:
[blockquote]quote:
"Part Numbers" for TSB 18-033-07 REV.A [hr] This number should appear on the "modification label" after a reflash is done:
[ CALIFORNIA NUMBERS ARE DIFFERENT! THESE ARE FED NUMBERS. ]
3500 auto - #55351105 AT
3500 man - #55351100 AT
2500 auto - #55350105 AT
2500 man - #55350100 AT
No distinction is given for cab/chassis models
[/blockquote]UPDATE: There is now a REV B to this TSB which is only an update to the dealer instructions. The part numbers and software is the same as REV A.

As sabersix noted the update is TSB 18-033-07, but the Rev # differs from region of the country per the dealership. I received rev B. I can't verify part numbers as they did not put a label on my PCM, however they put a mod sticker on the driver side front engine compartment support.

Have the same problem on my 2500 Megacab. It has happened twice to me and now it's in the dealership (2 days now) and still they don't know what to do (2200 miles).
When the message " Catalyst Full Service Required" you know your Turbo is no longer working. Must be a default mode.
My 2006 5.9 worked like a champ.
If they ever get this thing fixed I'll post the results here.
Happy trails,
Bill B. (Michigan)

PCM code: 2262 Boost Pressure not detected. Dealership now has 5 trucks in for the same thing and they are waiting on a Dodge Engineer to tell them what to do. But I don't think they know, because they haven't given the dealership an answer in over a week. Talked to a buddy and his new truck with 3000 miles did the same thing. On the way home from the dealership, the engine burned up.

Sorry to hear about all of your issues guys I really hope things work out on your rigs. When I purchased a few days ago I was torn between a killer deal they were giving me on a 2007 5.9 CD or the desire to have the new 6.7 CD but being the techno geek I am I know how things can go beserk the first round with new chit. Keep us all posted fellas and best of luck
