Call me a redneck, but Who here is running a CB in their 3rd gen? I found a good place to mount the radio, but I am having a hell of a time finding a decent spot for the antenna that does not drill holes or look dumb ( to me )... So.. Who else has one on a 3rd gen and is willing to share a pic?

 

First of all RedNeck is a compliment!!

Second I'm getting ready to throw mine in. I keep thinking about mounting two shorties on the top of the cab. I don't have stacks so I don't have to worry about melting them.

But I keep thinking about it too. So pics would be good.

 

I have a CB, but right now I am mag mounted on the roof. I know I'm a redneck too. I saw a truck that had some mounts that attached under the hood to an existing hole and the wire (called Firewire) went back under the hood too. It was very clean looking and the mounts and wire are available at Walcott CB online, HOWEVER they say the mounts won't work on a 3rd gen for some reason. just put a headache rack on it and mount them to it

 

I want to put one on mine as well I have seen the arb bumpers in the front have mounts for the antennas that I like.

Its been a while since I looked at CBs, but I thought I saw an antenna that mounted under the dash and looks similar to a large satellite radio box. I don't know the adverse reception compared to a normal antenna, but its an option to your "redneck" dilema.

Apparently there is a rubber plug at the back of the cab that the coax can be run through....that would be easy and eat of the min footage for the coax.
