Default Dropped the alternator

My alternator was squealing so I took it off an added a little grease to the pulley shaft. Putting it back in it fell and fell on the tubing that leads up to what I think is the cooler for the AC. It nicked the line ( solid side of the line and not the rubber tubing ) and vented all the refrigerant. My question is if anyone knows if there's a replacement for the line or am I going to have to find a whole new unit. I've never messed with the AC side of things and really don't know.

You should be able to get a replacement line. You'll also want to tape that hole up. A/C is very picky. You also might want to get a new accumulator/ reciever dryer. Once that system is opened the dessicant in that dryer is gonna start picking up moisture.

Thanks Jake. I'm going to head to the parts store first thing in the AM and I'm not going to try putting another alternator in at 10 at night using a flashlight propped up on the radiator...BAD IDEA

Once you put the new line on and replace the dryer, you will need a vacuum pump to get all of the air out of the system before putting in refrigerant.

LOL, I just bought one a coule of weeks ago along with a set of A/C gauges. I've STILL yet to do the job, but they're there when I'm ready.
