fuel additives
bought a new 5.9l and just picked it up from the dealer. I am wondering what sort of fuel additive is reccomended to put in with each tank of diesel. I'm assuming that the additive would only need to be put in when filling up with Ultra low sulph. diesel. What about Low sulph and regular ole diesel? Can anyone reccomend any brands, I know lucas is one, any others?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Check with your dealer before putting anything "extra" in your fuel, especially since you're under warranty.

16oz power service and 8oz of 2stoke oil to every tank. . .keeps the shakes down and does improve mileage. . .since your truck is new I wouldnt worry about it too much right now. . .let your engine parts wear in a bit more however it will not hurt to start now. I started useing addatives before mine hit 5K. got 47K and she runs like a top still.
besides, the dealer has to prove the addatives cause the problem. most likely it would be a manufacturing defect since the amount that is added to the tank is soo small it is hard to detect it from the addatives the fuel industry adds at the refinery.

it used to be. . .but it was pointed out that MMO has acetone in it. . .not good for the CP3 and injectors

thanks for the help guys, great board by the way. I was reading some on DTR and ULS diesel in general and it seems thatULS lacks the lubricants of previously widely used diesel fuels. I just want to make sure it is getting what it needs in regards to that. I appreciate the help.

Hey Roby, welcome to the forum, glad to have ya here. It seems alot of us use differnet additives, and what I've been using is Stanadyne Additives. They are a company that makes fuel pumps, injectors, additives and other related items. Check out their website and have fun here! http://www.stanadyne.com/new/index.asp
