Did you get the extended warrenty? I know this will not matter for the vehicle but they told us with the extended that that if they can not have us back on the road in a certain amount of time they give us money. I can not remember the full details.

Wow. Bad deal. I'd say maybe turbo seal went like roc_doc said. Hopefully they fix it for ya. I know i haven't had any oil problems. But I think it's a dodge thing with oil pressure sensors and such. We recently repossed my brother-in-law's truck. It's not a cummins but reason I say it's a dodge thing. I drove approx 25 miles from emmett, ID - where we live (po-dunk no where, don't mind it though). Anyways like I was saying as I was driving had the cruise set, All the gauges read normal. Then all of a sudden it binged check gauges a couple of times. Checked em. no problem. All read normal. Did this for 1 or 2 miles then went away again. figured it was a short or something another. Since oil pressure, temp, and alternator all read normal. Went across an over pass did again and it read normal. A noticable knocking sound started coming from the front of the truck. sounded very similar to when my front wheel bearings went out. Came across the over pass and it went away then came back on and the knocking came back more noticable checked my gauges AGAIN and it read no oil pressure. I was like WTF! turned it off coasted it to a stop. BAM engine seized up. Hopefully it's not as bad as that. But that's my story. We just pulled it going to put a new one or refurbished one in so we can trade it off so we don't have to worry about making the payment. That puts me to mind, maybe i should buy an extra oil pressure gauge as well. Hmm.....
Jake. . .I'm going through the internals of the CP3 from cutaway's I have and I dont see anything that could lead to oil loss like that.
Rob may have it in that a thrust bearing in the turbo went out and caused the oil to slowly seap into the exhaust.

I would think that if it were the turbo it would almost have to be the exhaust side. If it were the intake side you would think the motor would have showed a couple signs, runaway and such.
My dirty air filteris going tocost me $10-12K. The filter was very clogged and actually bent towards the intake. The lack of air appearantly blew out (or sucked in) all the internal seals, causing the oil to be burned off and destorying just about everything. This is under "poor maintenance" and isn't covered. So I guessit was burning oil and I didn't pay attention. The service dept. said they're surprised the turbo was still working.
So, does anyone know a good Cummins performance shop in the South East? For the price I might as well have it built up.
Also, anyone wanna buy a 2001 Mazda?
Drew: Thanks, I'm in Lagrange but we're twoing it home tomorrow so its not a big deal, just had to rent hotel rooms instead of using the camper. If you know a great shop that will do the build up, let me know.
