Oh just came to mind you know these trucks can be turned up stock by dealers right? Or turned down? That might be a problem. My buddy had his turned down because it was sucking too much fuel. No chip, just exhaust.

Stock ecm settings, asked a dealer about it. He said he could. Actually two dealers. Asked when i was looking at a duramax and asked on my current dodge too. So.... No i'm not going to trade in for a duramax. Just was considering buying one before i found this truck.

"So if I wanted more power could you plug into the truck and play with the comp on it and give it more power. If I had too much and wanted more mileage could you do that and how much would you charge for that?"
"Yeah I could. Ummm... we'd have to look into it" (chevy tech)
"If I decided not to buy this duramax and bought a cummins or a powerstroke could you do them too?"
"For the most part, Depends mainly on the type of stroker. Also depends on what the engine has done to it." (Chevy tech)
That was pretty much word for word conversation with the chevy tech. Now not sure if he just uses like an aftermarket programmer or not. But might be an option. I also noticed that alot of the stock trucks i test drove some seemed to be more spanky than others. test drove lots of 03's But maybe that'll help

I realize at your age all the keys probably look alike, maybe you need bi-focals?
