Mayfair, we've talked about my turbo already. He wants something smaller.
Thought you might have had your stocker still laying around
Yeah, I do but, it's been disected I blew out the exhaust seal on it so, I tore the whole turbo apart to see how it works. A great way to learn " how things work " [sm=confused06.gif]

That sounds like fun if you don't need the parts any more. I will probably tear mine apart if/when I pull it, learn what I can, maybe replace the bearings and rotating assembly and call it good and have a spare that I will hopefully never need.

I wouldn't run it anymore. Butif you decide too. You might be lucky and it won't blow up, if it does you might be lucky and it shoots everything out the exhaust pipe but like said before you could also shoot things into the intake. If it goes out the exhaust worst case scenario you would loose an exhaust pipe. Intake. Possibly engine. And then another possible reaction would be nothing gets hurt. Also BD Power sells some turbos, you might beable to find a small one. I know when I was looking they had a few. Just look around. Speaking of turbos. Does anyone know why mine makes kind of a on off chirp chirp chirp for a bit as the truck is idleing? Has done it eversince i've owned it. (not long) Main reason why I've been looking at turbos. Good luck Rooster

you realy shouldnt hear the turbo at idle. . the thing isnt spinning fast enough to cut the air.

you sure the sound is not comeing from some other location

When that turbo goes it's gonna start spewing oil. Other than that, your intercooler will catch the stuff on the intake side and everything on the exhuast will be sent down your down pipe. You could also ruin your intake and filter. I wouldn't recommened running that turbo. And when you do get a new turbo, get a new air filter and clean all your intake pipes. If you have access to a low pressure steam cleaner, back wash your intercooler to get the metal out of it. It is very very unlikely that any metal will pass through your intercooler.

Yeah I know, but sometimes while the engine is running it just starts chirping. I don't know where else it could be coming from? Sounds like the turbo, comes from the side where the turbo is mounted. but as soon as the idle is raised I don't have it. Kinda sounds like a throwout bearing in a tranny, guessing one of the bearings in my turbo is getting ready to go **** up.

More likely an a/c compressor or an alt or an idler pulley/bearings. The bearings in turbos don't squeel or chirp. Start by pulling the belt and seeing if the noise goes away.

or maybe a belt slipping ? when you raise the idle, the tentioner kicks in and tightens up the belt which may take the chrip away??? It couold also be the belt tentioner. Dodge has always had problems with them squealing since it just a plastic pulley with no lube. This was the case a while back... maybe they've found a fix.

Your turbo is "dusted" this means yourintake has been letting in something, most likely sand or some type of dust. That stuff when it hits a turbo wheel spinning at very high RPM's takes out the wheel, just like in your pictures. If you continue to run that turbo it will self destruct. Check your intake and filter before you run the new turbo.
