Default Bosch Injectors.

I am looking at the TST website and found the bosch injectors and have a few questions. 1, is it just a system then you basically take the old ones out and put the new ones in. 2, is this a potential for needing new head studs and stuff. 3, does it harm your stock engine in any way?

thanks

Just R&R the injectors. The nozzles are worked over to produce better atomization of fuel and on some of them the holes are inlarged to allow more fuel flow. A good set of injectors should improve your mileage a little and give you more power. A common thing on the cummins is to use injectors out of a marine or an rv engine.

there are usually 3 stages of injectors...

stock hp
stage 2 +30 or so hp
stage 3 up to +60 to 100 more hp

when changing injectors, make sure you blead off the air at the top of the injector bodies by leaving the fuel supply lines open after start up for a few seconds. then snug em down till they stop spewin fuel...

Finnny. . .the stage 1 injectors usualy just have an altered spray pattern that mists the fuel better. this increased misting or atomization of the fuel gives more contact with the air inside the cylinder. this increases drive pressures, which increases power and mileage. now the stage 2&3 will usualy lower mileage a bit due to the increased hole size of the injectors.

there are quite a few people that will only replace the injectors for towing purposes, and also the dealer cannot tell the difference bwetween the stockers and the modified ones

this set of injectors claims to give you 2 mpg better and they are off a 275 motorhome engine is what it was saying. They run 500 for the set and say it gets around 50 more hp. I just dont want to be having head stud problems and all that stuff if I get an injector of any type.

the only time you will run into head stud problems is when you start running 45-50+ pounds of boost. . .injectors wont do that.

replace them and enjoy

if you want better mileage.... you could spend that $500 on a Smarty and be done with it. You'll not only get unbelieveable power, but depending on which software you run you can get unbelieveable mpg's.

Injectors are a little more invloved than you might think. They will help with mileage but, like Drew said... some are for towing and other for HP. That $500 is for the tips only. You don't want to replace tips without doing a pop test on the injectors first. That consists of sending them out to somewhere that can do it. You can be easily into $1000 was it's said and done.

Don't put all your faith in Olee Poole either. He's a good several hours from you and is very slow at the work done at his shop. He also has to send things out to be done.

I'm not trying to be a nay sayer... just letting you know what you could be up against. There's plenty other mods you can do to gain milage and/or HP.
