You've got all of the death codes for a VP44. Your lift pump died and then your VP44 died due to lack of fuel.[sm=crossbonesgif.gif][sm=crossbonesgif.gif]

I know that these codes are both for pumps, but when we cycle (key on, key off) fuel is making it to the pumps. Does that sound characteristic of a bad pump? also, what about the air issue? have been told that it is sucking air somewhere

the lift pump will still pump fuel. . .just not the volume it should. there is alot of current being drawn by the pump to get it to work, this draw is what is causeing the code to be set.

If you think you are sucking air, hook up an alternative fuel source to the inlet of your pump. If the problem goes away then you got an air leak somewhere on the sucktion side. You can also hook a clear plastic tube to the outlet line to the vp44 and bump the starter, a few times. if the fuel coming out that tube has air in it then you have an air leak or a restriction in the suction side.

Next question::: I was given a part number of 3937670RX from Cummins for the injector pump- what if I choose not to use a cummins part and want to go with Bosch or Lucas, how do i know what is compatible. Does anyone know the part numbers for other manufacturers that would match?

1207 is a good price for that pump and all the other goodies, industrial injection wil charge you 14-1800 for just the pump.
