I have had this same experience several times.at least seven times so far. Not just the experience, but the replacements. Dodge does not acknowledge any fault, but the fuel pumps keep going out which in turn kills the inj pump. Anyone have any real fixes out there. Im abt ready to buy a FORD ! []
What year cummins? If its a 98-02 24v dont keep replacing the stock lift pump with another stock one. Get yourself a FASS from www.dieselpp.comand a fuel pressure guage.
i found a vp44 pump locally that is new and had just been taken off of a like truck. the seller advised me that it is a 275 industrial vp44. he told me that this would work on my 245 hp, can anyone confirm that?
I dont think it will. . .the internals are slightly different to fuel more. . .you might end up burning a piston, but I could be wrong, my knowledge of the VP44 doesnt go that far as to if a 275VP will run on a 245 engine.
Only thing you got to check is to see if the electrical plugs are the same (I'm not sure if dodge messed with the connectors or not). Other than that it should work just fine.
